Part-Time (80h/month MAX)
Position Overview
While the initial focus of the UX Bounty was on setting up operations and resolving the first set of issues, it is now evolving to address broader challenges. In this expanded scope, we aim to structure the bounty further, continue resolving issues, and initiate new ones (both in-house or external) to unify the user experience across the ecosystem.
Beyond UX unification, which will remain part of the scope, our goal is to improve collaboration by driving discussions, building consensus, bridging various community initiatives, and engaging more deeply with ecosystem stakeholders.
To achieve this, we propose a part-time General Manager (GM) to oversee operations, manage strategic initiatives, and ensure seamless coordination across ecosystem activities and expenditures.
Key Responsibilities
1. Bounty Operations
- Manage daily operations of the UX Bounty, including:
- Maintaining the Notion structure, task backlogs, roadmaps, and documentation.
- Coordinating with stakeholders (curators, advisors, executors, ecosystem teams):
- Interviews and onboarding.
- Weekly and monthly syncs.
- Managing processes such as submission forms, RFPs, and grant templates.
- Handle budget tracking, time tracking, and multisig management.
- Prepare detailed reports on milestones, budgets, and activity updates.
- Prepare the budget refill proposals to OpenGov.
- Communicate with the community via forum posts, X (Twitter), and Telegram updates, and in the future, through case studies.
2. Project Management
- Lead, coordinate or participate in UX initiatives and their future iterations, such as:
- Unified Address Format.
- Unified Gas Token solutions.
- Unified Glossary.
- Every technical terms used in the ecosystem should be standardised so a user doesn’t have to relearn from one app to another
- Users' Onboarding journeys.
- Onboarding to Polkadot isn’t easy today as there’s no single SSOT for starter. What are the journeys that can be unified and simplified to provide a top notch experience
- Unified Alerts and Notifications systems.
- From one dapp to another, have standardised notifications and alerts for users to not be confused. Initiate transactions then it goes to the wallet
- A unified journey for users who have lost their fund.
- Losing funds on a parachain, a dapp or a wallet, eventually falls back on Polkadot reputation. In order to address as one, Polkadot should have a single journey to support users that lost funds. This might be edge cases, but providing support and assistance is critical for a good ecosystem UX
- Libraries of reusable components (gas switch, CEXs deposit/withdraw journeys).
- Our ecosystem needs to stop working on the same things in paralell without collaboration. It is a waste of resources. This is why we would like to propose a library of tested and best practices components that teams can reuse for their interfaces, tailored for Polkadot experience. This doesn’t have to be built from scratch, it could be a mix between existing tools like wallet connect and other specific designs for specific experiences like deposit/withdraw to cexs or gas token switch
- Manage timelines, deliverables, and integrations of the projects.
3. Ecosystem Engagement
- Act as the primary point of contact for the UX Bounty across the Polkadot ecosystem.
- Coordinate and support inbound/outbound proposals and projects.
- Note: If a project requires Braille’s expertise outside the scope of this job description (e.g., UX consultancy or audits), Braille can provide ad hoc support at a cost defined during the RFP process.
- Collaborate with Parity, wallets, parachains, tooling and dapps, to align on Polkadot's goals and roadmap (AH Migration, JAM, Smartcontracts, etc.) and ensure UX is part of the discussion.
